What should I use to cover trellis cover to protect from rain / debris?
Hello, we have a large deck that we are and renewal finishing a 12 'x 10' section of the deck has a trellis covering. The lattice consists simply of 4 posts and horizontal slats, so is mostly open. We recently purchased some expensive wicker furniture and an outdoor table with a propane fire pit … so I'd like to protect this sector of rain and leaf fall, helicopters, the huge tree over it … as it would be our only "covered" area. My problem is that I'm not sure what to … I do not want to be ugly (carpet), but I also want to be effective. I found an umbrella here: http://www.kingcanopy.com/product/pc-20011-12 . I'm thinking that since the tree of large blocks of a good amount of rain that might do the trick. Anyone have experience with the amount of water repel? Any Another suggestion as to what should go in here? Thanks John
You could use the panels of corrugated fiberglass on top of the trellis. They will protect from sun and rain. They come in a variety of colors also. I would be very careful where you put the fire pit, however.
